Aims

The open market economy creates new tasks for managers and put more and more pressure on employees whose companies must cope with tough competition day by day. These factors are connected with greater openness of the Polish economy and its European Union’s membership as well as closer links between Polish and foreign companies creating a demand for managers with updated skills who will be flexible enough to use both general economic knowledge and extended expertise in numerous specialist fields according to their posts.

In order to meet the demand for highly qualified specialists in finance management and marketing management on international markets, Skarbek University offers another edition of post-graduate MBA studies whose curriculum is based on TESSA–PHARE programme (Training and Education in Strategically Significant Areas) of which grant was given in 1995.

 
 

MBA graduate profile and prospects for job

Graduates is prepared to pursuing professional career in decision-making divisions of business, financial, advisory and analytical departments of economic institutions, civil service in public and government institutions, as well as means of social communication. Graduates have broad theoretical knowledge so that they can well understand the economic processes which take place in Poland and in the world. Their theoretical knowledge, firstly, prepares them to carrying out economic analyses on their own and making right decisions in the changing environment and, secondly, contributes to their mobility on the challenging job market. Solid theoretical basis of the graduates are built by the economic and social courses which prepare them to:

  • understanding mechanisms of economic functioning of companies and institutions, as well as national and world economies;
  • understanding and analysing social phenomena;
  • gradually taking over the advisory and managerial functions in companies, central institutions and governments.
  • At the specialization courses the graduate learns the practical application of the methods of analysis and economic calculation techniques within the area of the chosen specialization. He is prepared to work in banks, insurance companies, financial and commodities exchange, brokerage firms, trust funds, finance departments of companies and non-financial institutions, marketing companies, media corporations, advertising agencies, public relation, marketing and advertising departments of production, trade and financial companies etc.
  • The graduate is prepared to:
    • using the principles of strategic management in the open market economy,
    • developing and applying marketing techniques in the global markets of multicultural character
    • company’s assets and liabilities management under the circumstances of international competition and unconstrained capital flow
    • analysing and evaluating the state of the market,
    • managing campaigns of new products entry
